Wednezday Ryan
Unions: SAG - AFTRA
Height: 5’ 7’’
Hair: Blond
Eyes: Blue

Moving to Sydney, Australia from San Francisco in 2001, Wednezday found employment as a photo double for the Trinity character in the now "middle" two Matrix films. Inspired by watching the actors on set, she immediately enrolled in acting classes at both NIDA and the Actors Center there in Sydney.

She began her studies in the Meisner Technique at The Actors Pulse in Redfern, NSW. Moving then to Los Angeles to finish her training at Playhouse West, under the tutelage of Jeff Goldblum (Thor Ragnarock/Jurassic+) and Mark Pellegrino (American Rust/Supernatural). Simultaneously she was also a student in New York based Susan Batson's Wednesday Summer Class for Black Nexxus at the Los Angeles Film School, as well as learning on the job, working as an assistant to actor Richard Schiff while he was a series regular on the West Wing.

Ms. Ryan has appeared on stage over 30 times in the play MEISNER, based on the life of the extraordinary acting teacher Sanford Meisner. It was performed at the Hayworth Theatre in Los Angeles, again at the William Alderson Studio, then again at Playhouse West. While studying at Playhouse West she performed in a special production of NIGHT OF NURSURY RHYMES, having three selected for the evening's program. She has worked as a co-star in the episodic series Nash Bridges & Criminal Minds for CBS, Get Shorty for EPIX, and most recently finished the short film Junior, where she had a supporting role.

Having always understood that factions and partisan politics are a subtle form of divisiveness, she is a constant believer in the philosophy "the best idea wins the day", thus motivating her to run for the board of SAG-AFTRA independently in 2023. Unfortunately, not having the platform of being on the negotiating committee during a nationwide strike, her campaign was grass roots and local and couldn't compete against the media driven momentum.

Previously elected by the members for two consecutive two-year terms as a delegate running with Unite For Strength, she was able to serve at the SAG-AFTRA Inaugural National Convention in 2013, as well as the second one in October of 2015. Due to UFS's extreme stance pushing unethical and dangerous experimental injections on the membership, instead of educating members on an already proven safe and most notably effective, inexpensive alternative, she chose to walk away from UFS in early 2021.

While working with UFS from 2008-2020, she helped for over four years on the "One Union" Campaign in support of merging SAG with AFTRA. At first this proved to be a very successful endeavor as the two unions merged and were able to combine the then split earnings to allow all monies made to qualify together for the healthcare plan. Sadly, the qualifying amount is now so high that the percentage of people able to qualify has not risen like they had promised.

Unfortunately, having never attempted to run for the board previously, it limited her access to participate in the conversations in the room where recent life altering decisions were being made. Realizing that the balance of power had shifted from the membership to the executive staff during the shutdown, she was therefore rendered completely unable to give a broader perspective or to speak on behalf of those whose lives have now been gravely affected by the recent narrowly advised decisions. It is because of the unintended consequences of the abrupt decisions being made by the NED alone that she decided to fully participate in nearly every Wages and Working conditions meeting held in 2022/2023, listening as well as making sound suggestions.

Previously serving on the National SAG Indie committee, the LA Host Committee, the LA Women's Committee, the National Casting Online Task Force Committee, the LA MOVE Steering Committee, the National Conservatory Committee, the President's Task Force on Education and was a founding member of the NextGen Performers sub-committee, the MORE committee, the LA Local Member Area Committee, the LA Organizing Committee and the Los Angeles Honors & Tributes Committee she now serves on the New Technology Committee heading the Online Privacy Workgroup for SAG-AFTRA.

On April 17th of 2014, she organized and moderated her first panel at SAG-AFTRA called the Unspoken Rules of the Industry. Guests included Actor/Director Tim Mattheson (Virgin River/Heart of Dixie), Writer/Producer Eli Attie (the Diplomat/Billions), Actress Marlyne Barrett (Chicago Med/ Chicago Fire), Special Effects Make Up Artist/Producer Paul Salamoff (the Tick/Encounter), and 16+ year Stand-In Stephanie Paleferro (Shameless/ER) FULL: The Unspoken Rules of the Industry - YouTube

On March 9, 2017 she organized and moderated her second Unspoken Rules of the Industry panel, this part two focused on "the Ever Changing Landscape of Television". The night revealed how much television has changed from the mid 80's when there were just three channels to the current 40+ networks producing original scripted content. The two hour chat was held in the James Cagney Boardroom at SAG-AFTRA, guests included Actress Dawnn Lewis (Star Trek: Lower Decks/Young Rock), Episodic Director Bethany Rooney (Bull/the list is endless...:), Producer Llewellyn Wells (the Walking Dead: Dead City/ the West Wing), Actor/Director Jon Huertas (This Is Us/Castle) and Casting Director John Frank Levey (Animal Kingdom/Seal Team).   Unspoken Rules of the Industry, Pt. 2: The Ever Changing Landscape of Television - YouTube

Before the shutdown she was organizing her third installment of UROTI that was meant to be held sometime in 2020 in the James Cagney Board Room at SAG-AFTRA Headquarters in Los Angeles, but it is now on hold until further notice.
